ROLE OVERVIEW –  MEDICAL SCRIBE

BH Wound Care is actively seeking a dedicated and motivated Medical Scribe to contribute to our fast-paced and collaborative environment. As a Medical Scribe, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and efficient documentation of medical charts, enhancing the overall quality of patient care.

Role Overview:
In this role, you will work closely with our medical providers, utilizing your exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail to capture and transcribe patient information into our electronic medical record (EMR) system. Your dedication to maintaining the highest standards of medical record compliance and confidentiality will be crucial. You’ll also assist in various clerical tasks to optimize provider productivity and streamline clinic workflows.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with physicians during patient visits to accurately document medical information within our EMR system.
  • Update patient records with precise details, including medical history, physical exams, and other relevant health data.
  • Prepare and organize medical documentation for physician review and approval.
  • Uphold the confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Operate medical record software and related hardware proficiently.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and maintain a professional demeanor with all staff members.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma and MA certification required. College sophomore status or higher is preferred, particularly if you’re on a pre-health career track.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and human anatomy is a plus.
  • Proficiency in typing (minimum of 60 WPM) and operating word-processing and database software.
  • Ability to grasp and apply medical terminologies effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce grammatically accurate written content.
  • Capacity to multitask and maintain focus in a fast-paced setting.
  • Adept at operating a personal computer and various software applications.
